Belgium and the Birth of Art Nouveau
Shaping a Modernist Movement
My sketchbook series, documenting travels, research, and ornamental forms across cultures, has been developed into a limited-edition postcard deck, now available at the Horta Museum shop.
The series emerged through an ongoing process of tracing the origins and evolution of Art Nouveau across different cultural contexts. Over time, these drawings and notes formed a visual language of their own, one that later became the foundation of my solo exhibition at Musée Horta, presented from November 2025 to January 2026.
Each postcard is accompanied by a short text highlighting key moments in the development of Art Nouveau. Together, the cards offer an illustrated reflection on the history behind Belgium and the Birth of Art Nouveau: Shaping a Modernist Movement (ISBN 978-3-033-11593-4).
